Blowout launches Black Friday Week ... now (updated)
Update: It's here -- and here's your direct link.
Who wants to wait until Friday? Blowout Cards simply isn't as we're doing the ol' Black Friday thing all week long -- and Black Friday Week begins in less than 12 hours from now.
It all starts on Monday at 7 a.m. Eastern with the biggest deals in the business on tap beginning at that time and lasting as long as they can. But you shouldn't shop and run early as each day will have new deals -- and reloads -- all day long and Buzz will have Buzz Box giveaways -- boxes of free stuff -- each day, too. (Look for details on those tomorrow morning about an hour after the sale madness begins.)
While you've seen Doorbuster deals with each wave of Black November right here all month long, there's even more to come.
Like what? Keep reading for a sneak peek at some of the new deals on the way ...
Making the Grade (November): Mike Trout, Clayton Kershaw, Mary Lou, Bo Knows, The Bambino & Chris Jericho's NHL dad
Like many collectors, Buzz is a fan of grading and knows that there are many reasons that collectors choose to slab cards. Sometimes it's to enhance the appeal and protect them when selling. Other times it's to protect an investment for the long-term or to protect for sentimental reasons. Or, it might be just for fun or curiosity about a potential grade.
Here's this month's grading diary here on The Buzz ...

A LITTLE EXTRA
The Item: Johnny Damon 2018 Topps Five Star patch auto (/25)
The Price: $179.95 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This brand is loaded with impressive cardboard and some crazy patches but this one comes with a little extra included -- as you can see that's a PSA/DNA authentication sticker for the jersey where this patch came from. That notes that this jersey was signed with a game-used 2011 inscription -- something you'll know from just this swatch but not any of the other 24 that exist. A simple and fun item. There are some nice cards coming out of these boxes -- check out the link below -- and get your box at the link below that.

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL STAR
The Item: Andrew Luck 2018 Panini Gold Standard Good as Gold patch auto (/5)
The Price: 99 cents (no bids) with six-plus days remaining
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Remember when this guy was the hottest thing in the NFL? Injuries have derailed those Canton plans but he gets the spotlight tonight across from Tom Brady and the New England Patriots -- and that got me thinking about the autographs from a guy who once was a top dog in the hobby. Since his arrival in 2012, Luck has had more than 6,600 different football cards and he's closing in on 1,800 different certified autos. The lull in interest is probably behind us but there are still likely some bargains to be found -- and they could start with 99-cent auctions like this one.

SENIOR BOWL GAMER ... OF A HALL OF FAMER
The Item: Brett Favre 1991 Senior Bowl game-used and signed jersey
The Price: $22,000 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The Senior Bowl has a rich history and a number of college stars who went on to NFL greatness after the big game -- and there are many who didn't. While you can find players' Senior Bowl jerseys placed into cardboard in recent years, a past gamer might be much rarer than you think. And one from a player of Favre's caliber? Well, that's an elite piece. This one came directly from Favre himself after being put on the market via Hunt Auctions in 2017. These aren't team colors that we most commonly associate with this Hall of Famer, but it's a one-of-a-kind piece compared to many potential gamers for his pro teams. It's impressive.

Luke Voit has more home runs this week than Rookie Cards -- same goes for his New York Yankees cardboard, too
You may not know his name but Luke Voit has been a force for the New York Yankees this week.
The 27-year-old first baseman homered for the third straight game on Tuesday, upping his season total to seven with his second team of the season. He's hitting .322 in 19 games for the Yankees since he was traded there on July 29 with some international bonus slot cash for pitchers Giovanny Gallegos and Chasen Shreve.
As for cardboard? There's just one place to find him -- 2017 Topps Update and its parallels (as well as its Mini version and Chrome Mega Box version). As for Yankees cardboard? There's just one place to land him ... for now ... and it won't be easy.
Making the Grade (September): Jose Altuve's key Rookie Card, a Bill Belichick bummer, Roger Maris, Heritage and its Minis

Other times it's to protect an investment for the long-term or to protect for sentimental reasons. Or, it might be just for fun or curiosity about a potential grade.

Carding Baseball America's MLB Prospects Hot Sheet (Aug. 20)
Here's a look at the top five players on this week's Baseball America Top MLB Prospects Hot Sheet and their seasons so far. It's a little something to help those who might want to dabble with prospecting -- some basics on their baseball cards alongside a highlight line from those more scouting-minded. We may not do this every week, but we'll check in on BA's top crop from time to time for the remainder of the season.
1. Luis Urias, 2B, Padres — Triple-A El Paso Chihuahuas
Season so far: Hitting .290 with 28 doubles, 8 homers, 44 RBI and 2 SBs in 114 games
Baseball America’s highlight line: “Urias reeled off five consecutive multi-hit games, including four three-hit games, and raised his season batting average from .270 to .290 in a span of six games. He finished the week off in grand style, belting the game-tying RBI triple in the ninth and then scoring the winning run on Sunday."
CARDBOARD BASICS
Approximate card total (so far): 200
First Chrome auto: Still to come
One auto to consider: 2016 Elite Extra Edition
Buzz’s card take: He's barely cracked 20 certified autos so there's just two places to find him right now -- 2016 Elite Extra Edition and 2018 Onyx Platinum Elite where his easiest auto is limited to only 200 copies. After his un-numbered Elite auto, none of the parallels there is more than 100 copies. All of this should help values right now.Keep reading for the rest of the top five ...

The Blowout Cards Forums are where thousands of collectors converge daily to discuss, well, a little bit of everything. Here are a few threads about collecting and more that you should check out right now.
What's Buzzing Today: Huge pulls like this Tom Brady 1/1 autograph lead the way as we work toward the weekend.
Ronald Acuña Jr.'s home run binge is already historic -- and many of his Rookie Cards are still on way this season
Hotlanta doesn't just apply to the city this time of year -- right now it also applies to one if its rookies.Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. hit a lead-off home run for the third consecutive game on Tuesday night and that was his fifth consecutive game overall with a homer. (And he hit two.) At just 20 years old, he's the youngest to do that in the last 100-plus years and he's the first player since Brady Anderson back in 1996 to open three straight games with a longball. (Anderson did it four times during his record lead-off streak.)
The MLB record for most consecutive games with a homer? That's eight -- a mark held by Ken Griffey Jr. (1993), Don Mattingly (1987) and Dale Young (1956). For the Braves, a franchise with a rich home run history, he's tied the consecutive games mark held by eight players -- a group that includes Hall of Famers Rogers Hornsby, Hank Aaron and Chipper Jones. (How many homers does Acuña have in his last eight games? Eight -- just not in every game in a row.)
For the season, Acuña is hitting .288 with 19 home runs and and 43 RBI -- and since the All-Star break (24 games) he's hitting .358 and 12 of those home runs have come during that time. And for collectors, it's also at a time when his Rookie Cards are beginning to regularly appear in baseball card sets released this season.
Getting into Blowout MegaMix ain't happening until National
The first details on a top-secret project at BlowoutCards.com dropped on Monday with nothing but pre-ordering and waiting coming between all of us and a 2018 Blowout Cards Mega Mix box.
The waiting part is for the start of this year's National Sports Collectors Convention set for Aug. 1-5 in Cleveland, which is where this one will launch and be available -- but only for the first 600 buyers.
What does it include?
Daniel Poncedeleon's debut comes year after brain surgery
Roughly a year ago, St. Louis Cardinals prospect Daniel Poncedeleon was hit in the head by a line drive and collapsed on the pitcher's mound during a game in Des Moines, Iowa, never losing consciousness but wondering if his playing career (or life as he knew it) was over.
On Monday night in Cincinnati, he made his MLB debut for the Cardinals and was pulled from a game in the seventh inning despite having a no-hitter going and a 1-0 lead. Per the Elias Sports Bureau, the 26-year-old is just the fifth pitcher have a no-hit bid through seven innings in his MLB debut since 1961. (The Cardinals bullpen blew it in the ninth so it went down as a no-decision.)
"I think that played a huge part into this, because without that, I'm pretty weak," Poncedeleon told MLB.com. "With God, I have a lot of faith and confidence. ... The journey was not drawn up by me. Obviously, there is something greater drawing up this plan or this story. ... I just wanted to win, to be honest."

Two Reds prospects scorch MLB All-Star Futures Game
The Futures Game indicates things might be bright for the Cincinnati Reds in the future.
With the bat it was 20-year-old outfielder Taylor Trammell who took home MVP honors Sunday after a day that included a home run and a triple in his two at-bats, while last year's No. 2 overall draft pick Hunter Greene scorched from the mound with his first seven pitches of the All-Star event topping 101 mph and one hit 103.
Trammell, who ranked 48th on Baseball America's Top 100 entering this season, is hitting .295 with six homers and 29 RBI in 78 games this season for the Advanced-A Daytona Tortugas, while the 18-year-old Greene was 29th on that list but has a prominent spot with collectors appearing on boxes of Bowman products. He's 3-7 with a 4.69 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 63 innings this season for the Class-A Dayton Dragons.
Max Muncy's All-Star snub goes perfectly with his cardboard
The annual All-Star snub hot takes are blazing after the MLB All-Star teams were announced on Sunday night and there's one guy who's having a break-out year and didn't make the cut.
But, don't worry, he's used to that on cardboard, too. His name? Max Muncy.
The 27-year-old Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder has hit 20 homers in 67 games so far this season, which is his third in the bigs. He's an unlikely slugger as he had five homers for his career entering this year. Last summer? He was in Oklahoma City all season after being released by the Oakland A's -- and even that time as a Dodger down in the Bible Belt didn't appear to be a given at one point.
After hitless 2017, Kyle Higashioka has more homers than RCs
His career stat sheet is a lengthy one, but he flashed some power Wednesday at Yankee Stadium that could lead to some fireworks on cardboard with the most-diehard of New York Yankees fans.
His name? Kyle Higashioka and the only hits the rookie has in MLB right now are home runs. Through the fourth inning of today's game, he's got three longballs in 17 at-bats this season.
The catcher also has more homers in his six games than he does Rookie Cards.
Luis Severino's red-hot season heats up his cardboard
It might be easy to overlook the New York Yankees pitching staff with all those young sluggers and other big boppers in the Bronx, but there's one arm clearly establishing himself this summer as he's in the midst of a career year and should have dominating season totals by year's end.
It's Luis Severino.
The 24-year-old right-hander is 13-2 with a 1.98 ERA this season -- tops in the American League and nearly the best in MLB right now -- and he's got 138 strikeouts in 118 innings atop that. His next victory will tie his career-high set last season and he's by far the top arm on the team -- Masahiro Tanaka is second with just seven victories this year.
And all this success should bode well for his cardboard, which can still be found with relative ease.

We may not do this every week, but we'll check in on BA's top crop from time to time for the remainder of the season.
1. Kyle Tucker, OF, Astros — Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies
Season so far: Hitting .314 with 23 doubles, 10 homers, 57 RBI and 13 SBs in 69 games
Baseball America’s highlight line: “Tucker, the Astros’ No. 1 overall prospect, absolutely destroyed the Pacific Coast League this week and has done so all June long. In the season’s third month, Tucker, still just 21 years old, holds a .415 average and a 1.085 OPS. More than that, he’s also a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen bases."

First Chrome auto: 2015 Bowman Chrome Draft
One auto to consider: 2012 Elite Extra Edition (USA Baseball)
Buzz’s card take: He's got a ton of cards but he hit 25 homers last season and he's in the World Series champions organization, so there are a few reasons to chase and watch. If you can't land the Chrome, that really early USA option should have some decent appeal with a number of collectors. He's a Top 15 prospect per Baseball America and a Top 20 guy to MLB.com and Baseball Prospectus -- so you should know his name already if you dabble in prospects.Keep reading for the rest of the top five ...

SUPERFRACTOR MANIA ... CATCH IT!
The Item: Bryce Harper's 2011 Bowman Chrome Prospects Superfractor autograph (BGS 9.5/10)
The Price: $499,999.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Superfractors are the top draw for prospectors and they're the cards that get dollars flowing with their golden swirls. This one is among Bryce Harper's rarities before his Rookie Cards arrived and it's got the museum-style price attached to it. Will it sell for that? Probably not, but that best offer button has probably been hit more than a few times in the past.
